Who ever knew
That the hearts of two
Could become as close as one?
Who would ever believe
Or even perceive
His daughter with her son?
Too good to be true, they said before
And now I shall say again.
No happiness to be found in Verona
For our fair maiden friend.
Juliet will soon spend a night in sorrow
Her tears will fall as rain
For Romeo is not the prince she imagined
And doubtless will bring great pain.
The chivalrous hero of Shakespearean lore
Is no more than a man
And no beauty or grace or pretty face
Can hold him to her hand.
For Romeo--
The treacherous rascal--
a secret does possess.
Two women
Does he string along:
Juliet and foreign princess.
This secret long cannot be kept
And Juliet shall know
Her heart has never meant a thing
To beloved Romeo.
A curse to thee,
Thou lying dog
A faithful friend will cry.
May your sins find you out
And your life be spent alone
Solitary in your lies.
To Juliet a comfort,
I beg she will accept.
Though precious heart is broken
She is undoubtedly blessed.
No other lovely maiden
Like she shall we ever know.
But search she through the world
And always find
Yet another Romeo.
